Strut not lining up with knuckle

WebI'm able to align and bolt the bottom bolt where the strut attaches to the knuckle, but am unable to line up the top bolt (it juts out, and I have been trying for a good while to try tilting the knuckle assembly in position, using a floor jack as well). WebJun 18, 2024 · You can push the knuckle assembly towards the vehicle. Probably some play in the CV joints. Push the bottom in while you pull the top. It should line right back up. Use some anti-seize in the ball joint cup of the knuckle, that bolt that threads through the knuckle as well as the ball joint shaft that inserts into the control arm.

WebIf it's not that hard, try and put the bolts/studs in the place they need to be on the upper part of the car. Now the bottom will not be lined up. But you can fit a large pry bar or screwdriver and force the strut to spin and find the right spot you need. Don't try this on a rusty car with shitty upper mounting holes. They may end up tearing.
